The Information reported that ByteDance company, owner of the TikTok app is exploring selling a majority stake in TikTok US, preferably to a non-tech company, and ideally without TikTok’s recommendation algorithms.

Sources indicate that ByteDance views TikTok’s algorithms, essential to its operations, as core assets, making a sale of the app along with its algorithms highly improbable. ByteDance responded, saying that the Chinese company has no plans to sell TikTok.
