Japan Unveils Its First 6G Devices, Claims to be 20X Faster than 5G

Japan – A Four Japanese companies namely, NTT DOCOMO Corp, NTT Corporation, NEC Corporation, and Fujitsu Limited Corp, have collaborated to build the world’s first 6G devices that has a claim to be 20x faster than the current 5G prototype, ending the five-year dominance of 5G technology since it launches 5 years ago.

According to a new report, this 6G device is claimed to be 20 times faster than 5G and more a hundred faster than 4G, achieving speeds of 100 Gbps in the sub-terahertz bands of 100 GHz and 300 GHz.

This frequency range is significantly higher compared to the 28 GHz bands used in 5G systems that are currently used today.

The research and development of this 6G device have been ongoing since 2021 according to researchers, with each company focusing on different aspects of this project.
